| Welcome
" AN ABUSE ( MISUSE ) OF
POWER "
He was a spoiled, little, rich kid, that never
seemed to fail to flaunt his position. He let everyone know who he was. He tried over and
over to use his position to his advantage. His dad was the richest and most powerful dad,
and he monopolized the advantages he was given to make his own life pleasing and all
situations to result favorably in his behalf. Never once did he realize that it was not
because of his own doing, anything that he did on his part, that brought him the position
he was enjoying. Never once did he regard the potential of his position to do that which
was right and benefited others. He made sure that all people were made aware of who he was
and what he could do, rather than being a servant, he was a master.
And then there was a young man who had been led
astray into a life not of his choosing, one that was not pleasing, favorable, and as the
Lord says: " desperately wicked ". The Lord looked at him and showed him mercy
by adopting him as his own son. His new Father was more loving, rich and powerful than any
other.
His new Father is our heavenly Father who loves us
so much and has given us the privilege to be one of His children, to be able to possess
such promises, being His children. All power and authority is His and He has given us all
that is His.
Just as the poor little rich kid has received of
his father, we have received of our heavenly Father. But this new found life with all of
it's blessings, is meant to be used for everyone's benefit and not to be abused for our
own welfare. Many of us fall into the trap of thinking it is our responsibility to always
let everyone know who we are and what we are capable of; without realizing the true
meaning of: "Freely you have received, so freely give!" The question now is:
" Are you a User of The Power or an Abuser of The Power?"
Jesus told the disciple that cut off the ear of
the Roman soldier, to put his sword away, to be careful how he used it. Those who live by
the sword will die by the sword. ( MAT 26:51,52 ) The disciple had taken advantage of his
position and was using it for his own glory. Those who are quick to use the Word of God,
to assault others should they appear to be in the wrong, must realize that they as well
will be required to abide by it and answer to it. For in all instances, The Word of God
has Priority and exceeds all power and might.
In conclusion, we are to walk in the power,
realizing that the power is not ours to flaunt, rather, to use when the time calls for it,
just as our Father would have us to, no sooner and no later, at the time he has appointed.
While realizing in full, who we are, what His
potential is, what His purpose is, and being in full submission to Him that His will be
done. What we choose to say and do must be in alignment to His will, otherwise it is in
complete disobedience. The hope of glory is not for us to be noticed and receive praise,
rather, it is for us to be so submitted to His will, that in all of our speech and
actions, Christ in us is visible, which is The Hope of glory. ( COLOSSIANS 1:27 )
According to The Word of God, just as it is
written:
** And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus
stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and
smote off his ear. The said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all
they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Thinkest thou that I cannot pray to
my Father, and He shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
[ MATTHEW 26:51-53 ]
** For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing
to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is me, if I preach not the gospel!
For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation
of the gospel is committed unto me. What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the
gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the
gospel. [ 1 CORINTHIANS 9:16-18 ]
** And I brothers, when I came to you, I didn't
come to you with worldly words, ones being delivered by a highly educated person, but,
rather, declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among
you, save Jesus Christ, and Him being crucified; And I was with you in weakness, and in
fear, and in much trembling; and my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of
man's wisdom, but, rather, through demonstration of The Spirit and of power; that your
faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. [ 1 CORINTHIANS
2:1-5 ]
** For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to
preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of
none effect; for the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto
us which are saved, it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom
of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. So Where is the wise?
where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hasn't God made foolish the
wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom didn't know
God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. [1 COR
1:17-21 ]

His life can be described as a very godly life. He
is perfect in all his ways. His life is a life which is well pleasing to all who know him
or even those who know of him. Due to the life which he leads, he has become very well
known, and as a result, has become very prosperous. A person might even say, that he is
the richest man in the world. He material abundance is exceeded only by his love.
He made the decision to adopt a young man, then
another and another, until he had many adopted sons, so many that it was hard to count
them. All that he has and is, now as well, can be claimed by those sons. It is not because
of the sons that they are who they are, rather, it is because of the inward quality he
possesses that they are entitled to be able to claim such a rich heritage. They are indeed
privileged to have such a position.
One can only, with worldly wisdom, imagine the
unlimited opportunities that a rich kid, a wealthy man's son, would have; and how he could
take advantage of this new found, "rights to claim".
Our heavenly Father has adopted us and given us
the precious privilege of being His sons.
