ON WHAT BASIS
DID YOU
COME TO THAT CONCLUSION ?
He entered the hotel lobby and headed
immediately for the reservations desk to see about his room he had reserved. Prior to
reaching the desk, an attractive young lady approached him expressing a polite greeting
which was unheard by others in the lobby. He returned a gracious greeting to her and
proceeded to the desk. When he reached the desk, a man approached him and informed of who
and what the young lady was. He quickly turned to follow after her, that he might witness
to her; while the other man was left standing there saying to the bell boy, " She
found herself another one! " He heard what the man said to the bellboy and stopped to
tell him, " Don't judge me by what you think I might do. Don't even judge me by what
you would do yourself. Why will you not give me the benefit of the doubt by allowing The
Lord to use me as He has purposed? "
How many times we judge others by what we
think they might do or say. So frequently we judge others in our own explained way, by how
we would act or react in a similar situation. We do not seem to allow the person to be who
he or she is, and trust The Lord that He is guiding them, and they are in submission to
Him. We think that we know them so well, that they will do what we expect them to do,
because we think we know them, or because of their past life; not allowing any growth in
them to be revealed.
The Lord tells us, according to His Word:
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.(JOHN 7:24) Ye judge
after the flesh; I judge no man. (JOHN 8:15) But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on
his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the
LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD
looketh on the heart. (1 SAM 16:7) Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never
go forth: for the wicked doth compass a-bout the righteous; therefore wrong judgment
proceedeth.(HAB 1:4)Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that
judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest
doest the same things. (ROM 2:1) Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord
come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest
the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. (1 COR 4:5)
