PROVE IT &
I WILL BELIEVE IT !
I was in the world just like so many
others, caught up in the cares of this world and not truly concerned about the truth about
where I was headed.
I believed that unless something was
proven to me, it was not truth and I would not believe it. If I could not see it, it was
not there, it was not truth. I did
not understand that even though I could not see the wind; that didn't mean it was not
there. What I didn't realize and would not accept was that I was
leading a deceived life. Of course I thought that I could distinguish truth but I was
not aware that I was being deceived not of my own choice, but by the
god of this world who was out to destroy me. Blessed be my Father in Heaven who had
mercy on me because of His great love for me by being so faithful and waiting until just
the right time, and introducing me to The Truth, His Son, who gave His life for me, that
wicked god would be prevented from confusing and confounding and deceiving me any longer.
Having come to meet The Truth face to face
made me realize that I could no longer say to any one, especially my heavenly Father;
unless you prove to me that you exist and truly love me the way you say, I will not
believe it. Unless you prove to me that the bible is what you are telling me, I will not
believe it. Unless You prove to me what I
am thinking is the truth, I will not believe it. So how can a person go from point of
being deceived, to the point of knowing that you know The Truth, and are not living a
deceived life, only to find out that what you thought was The Truth, was only a lie?
Let's hear what The Lord has & is
telling us: But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus
came. The other disciples there- fore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said
unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, & put my finger
into the print of the nails, & thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And
after eight days again his disciples were within, & Thomas with them: then came
Jesus, the doors being shut, & stood in the midst, & said, Peace be unto
you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, & behold my hands; & reach
hither thy hand, & thrust it into my side: & be not faithless, but
believing. And Thomas answered & said unto him, My Lord & my God. Jesus saith unto
him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that
have not seen, and yet have believed. [John 20: 25-29]
There are many unexplained things that we
have a hard time believing because we can not understand them. Our understanding of
something has no bearing on the truth. Whether we understand the truth or not will not
prevent the truth from being the truth. We must accept the fact that there will be things
we can not understand; & we must just accept those facts as the truth.
